The intent of this site is to familiarize visitors with the fortifications located throughout Pennsylvania, and other colonial provinces, and to relay their importance during the French and Indian War.
This site is a stepping stone of small pieces, that will provoke thought and discussion about the larger subjects: the French and Indian War, the removal and the misleading of the Native American tribes, and the events that shaped America's future. |
John Penn, in 1764, issued bounties for scalps and natives, "For every male above the age of ten years captured, $150; scalped, being killed, $134; for every female Indian enemy, and every male under the age of ten years, captured, $130; for every female above the age of ten years scalped, being killed, $50."
